Dr. Flinter is Senior Vice President and Clinical Director of the Community Health Center, Inc., (CHCI) and Founder Emeritus of its Weitzman Institute for Research and Innovation. CHCI is a federally qualified health center serving 150,000 patients across Connecticut from its network of primary care centers, school based health centers, and mobile sites. Margaret is a family nurse practitioner with more than 30 years of clinical and leadership experience and has extensive experience with nurse practitioner education and clinical training from an organizational, practice, and business perspective. CHCI is also the HRSA designated National Cooperative Agreement on Clinical Workforce Development, of which Margaret serves as co-PI.
A visionary, Dr. Flinter developed the original model of postgraduate NP residency training for new NPs committed to practice careers as primary care providers, and founded the National Nurse Practitioner Residency and Fellowship Training Consortium (NNPRFTC) to serve as an accrediting organization for postgraduate training programs. Additionally, Dr. Flinter speaks widely on Practice Transformation and Value-based Care
